For Math 2, students will use scientific calculators. Each student is required to have a calculator. We will be using the TI-30XS in class. They may choose to purchase one, or check one out at the school library. I have a couple of TI-30XS in the classroom that are available for students to use during class time, but they cannot be taken home.
If you do purchase a calculator, the recommended calculator is the TI-84, because they will use it the following year in math 3. However, the TI-30 is closer to 15$ while the TI-84 is closer to 100$
Math 3 students will be using a graphing calculator. If you do purchase a calculator, the recommended calculator is the TI-84. There are many versions available, including a new version with a full color screen. If students have access to a different TI calculator, or even a different brand, that will be fine as well. There are a limited number of graphing calculators available to rent in the school library. The rental fee is $20 per year, and they are available on a first come, first serve basis.
